SET Command
Exchange/SNA Commands
3–54 104700 Tandem Computers Incorporated
system
must name a Tandem system in the same Expand network as the system
on which the Exchange/SNA command interpreter is running. If
system
is omitted, the default system is the system on which the Exchange/SNA
command interpreter resides. If you specify a remote system for \
system
in the PROGRAM parameter, you must name the line server and specify
the same remote system in the NAME parameter.
If you specify the name of a nonexistent line server on a system other than the
system on which the Exchange/SNA command interpreter resides, and if you
do not also specify the location of the SNAXSV program on that system in the
PROGRAM parameter, the next CONNECT command starts a line server with
the specified name on the system on which the command interpreter resides.
In this case, the line server is not started on the system specified in the NAME
parameter.
If you omit this parameter, the next CONNECT command starts a new line
server and the operating system assigns a temporary process name to the line
server.
PRIN[TER] { ( [
number
] [,
class-name
] ) |
number
}
specifies the class name of printer subdevices and the number of printer
subdevices supported by the line server. Each individual printer subdevice is
identified by the class name of printer subdevices and a unit number. For
example, if the class name of printer subdevices is PR, then PR3 specifies the
third (unit number 3) printer subdevice.
class-name
can be from one to six alphanumeric characters, of which the first must be
a letter. If you omit
class-name
, the default class name for printer
subdevices is PR.
number
specifies the number of printer subdevices supported by the line server.
The line server can support from zero to seven printer subdevices. The
total number of printer subdevices and punch subdevices cannot exceed
seven. If you specify 0, the line server supports no printer subdevices. If
you omit
number
, the default number of printer subdevices supported by
the line server is 1.
If you omit this parameter, the line server supports a single printer subdevice
with the name PR1.
This parameter applies only when the Exchange/SNA line server does not yet
exist. After the line server has been created, you cannot change the name or
number of printer subdevices supported by the line server.
