Configuring Expand-Over-ServerNet
Lines
The Expand-over-ServerNet line-handler process provides connectivity to a ServerNet
Cluster, which uses this process to provide a high-speed interconnect between
systems over a limited geographic range. The Expand-over-ServerNet line-handler
process uses the NETNAM protocol to access the network access method (NAM)
interface of the ServerNet cluster monitor process, $ZZSCL.
An Expand-over-ServerNet line-handler process can be configured as a single line
only; Expand-over-ServerNet lines cannot participate as a member of a multi-CPU path
(superpath).
Required Hardware and Software
Several hardware and software components are required in addition to the Expand-
over-ServerNet line-handler process to provide Expand-over-ServerNet connectivity.
Figure 12-1 illustrates the process of a local application sending a message to a
remote node.
