Step 3: Start the Expand-Over-FOX Line-
Handler Processes
To start an Expand-over-FOX line-handler process, use the WAN subsystem SCF
START DEVICE command. You must start each Expand-over-FOX line-handler
process that you created in Step 2: Create a Device for the Expand-Over-FOX Line-
Handler Process. The command syntax is as follows:
$ZZWAN.device_name
specifies, via the WAN subsystem, the device name of the Expand-over-FOX line-
handler process.
This command creates the specified Expand line-handler process and allocates a
logical device (LDEV) number.
Step 4: Start the Expand-Over-FOX Lines
To start an Expand-over-FOX line, use the Expand subsystem SCF command START
LINE. The command syntax is as follows:
device_name
is the device name of the Expand-over-FOX line-handler process.
The successful completion of this command leaves the line in the STARTED state.
Profile Modifiers
This subsection lists the modifiers provided for configuring special features. It also
describes default values and value ranges for all the modifiers contained in the
PEXQSFX profile.
START DEVICE $ZZWAN.#device_name
Note. Do not perform this step unless you have already physically connected the NonStop
S-series server to the FOX ring. Connecting a NonStop S-series server to a FOX ring is
described in the ServerNet/FX Adapter Installation and Support Guide for ServerNet/FX
adapters and in the ServerNet/FX 2 Adapter Installation and Support Guide for ServerNet/FX 2
adapters.
