System Generation-to-SCF Considerations
System Generation-to-SCF Considerations
This subsection explains how information that is configured in system generation
CONFTEXT paragraphs on D-series systems is defined on G-series systems.
CONFTEXT Paragraph Information
Table B-1 lists the CONFTEXT paragraphs that are relevant to Expand subsystem
configuration and how the information in each paragraph is defined on G-series
systems.
Table B-1. Defining CONFTEXT Paragraph Information on G-Series Systems
(page 1 of 2)
Paragraph G-Series Definition
ALLPROCESSORS Network control process-related information is defined through the
WAN subsystem. Other information is defined as follows:
SYSTEM_NAME and SYSTEM_NUMBER are configured
through the SCF interface to the NonStop Kernel subsystem.
MAXIMUM_SYSTEMS is not configured for G-series systems
(255 is the assumed maximum number).
REMOTE_DEFAULT_NEWPROCESS_PROCESSORS is
specified by the NEXTSYS modifier in Expand line-handler
process configuration.
CLUSTER_NUMBER is defined through the SCF interface to
the ServerNet/FX adapter, OSM, or TSM.
MULTIFUNCTION_
CONTROLLERS
This information is not applicable to G-series systems.
CONTROLLERS
ServerNet wide area network (SWAN) concentrator
information is configured through the SCF interface to the
WAN subsystem.
Ethernet 4 ServerNet adapter (E4SA), Fast Ethernet
ServerNet adapter (FESA), Gigabit Ethernet ServerNet
adapter (GESA), and Gigabit Ethernet 4-port ServerNet
adapter (G4SA) information are configured through the SCF
interface to the ServerNet LAN adapter (SLSA) subsystem.
ServerNet/FX adapters are configured through the SCF
interface to the ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem.
PATHS This information is not applicable to G-series systems. However,
the ServerNet wide area network (SWAN) concentrator has paths
similar to the communications interface unit (CIU) paths defined in
the PATHS paragraph. Each communications line interface
processor (CLIP) on a SWAN concentrator has an A or a B path
that must be added and started when the concentrator is added
and started.
