RPT
RPT. See reverse pairing table (RPT).
satellite-connect line-handler process. An Expand line-handler process that implements
the satellite-efficient version of the High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC) protocol,
HDLC Extended Mode. This type of Expand line-handler process is provided for use
with satellite connections but can also be used to manage terrestrial lines.
SCF. See Subsystem Control Facility (SCF)..
SCP. See Subsystem Control Point (SCP).
SEB. See ServerNet expansion board (SEB).
selector byte. The last (rightmost) byte in an Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) address.
The selector byte is used to route incoming call requests to the correct ATM subsystem
client.
sensitive command. A command that can only be issued by a user or program that has
super group capabilities. Compare nonsensitive command.
ServerNet adapter. A customer-replaceable unit (CRU) that connects peripheral devices to
the rest of the system through a ServerNet bus interface (SBI).
ServerNet cluster. ServerNet clusters enable multiple NonStop S-series servers to work
together and appear to client applications as one large processing entity. ServerNet
clusters extend the ServerNet X and Y fabrics outside the system boundary and allow
the ServerNet protocol to be used for intersystem messaging.
ServerNet cluster monitor process. The manager process, called $ZZSCL, for the
ServerNet cluster subsystem on NonStop S-series servers. $ZZSCL is responsible for
maintaining configuration information about a ServerNet cluster.
ServerNet expansion board (SEB). (1) A connector board that plugs in to the backplane
to allow one or more ServerNet cables to exit the rear of the enclosure. The SEBs and
ServerNet cables allow processors in one group to communicate with processors in
another group. Each SEB provides either the ServerNet X fabric or the ServerNet Y
fabric for a group. (2) A collective term for both SEBs and modular SEBs (MSEBs)
when a distinction between the two types of SEBs is not required.
ServerNet/FX adapter. A field-replaceable unit (FRU) that is used to connect a NonStop
S-series server to a FOX ring.
ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem. The HP subsystem that enables a NonStop S-series
server to communicate with Cyclone and NonStop K-series servers in a FOX ring. See
also Expand-over-FOX line-handler process and FOX ring.
