These decisions affect the choices of the SCF attributes for the SCF ADD DISK
command to the storage subsystem (see DISK Configuration (ESS Connection) on
page 2-15).
Relationship to the Disk Drive Enclosure
For Integrity NonStop NS-series systems, the FCSA provides connectivity to the M8xxx
fibre channel disks located in an HP disk drive enclosure.
Before the disk drive enclosure is connected to the FCSA, you must use the SCF ADD
command to configure a dummy DISK object. This configuration step makes the disks
in the disk drive enclosure visible to OSM.
Figure 1-8 on page 1-17shows an example of two paths from the processors through
the FCSAs to the storage subsystem.
