Troubleshoot the Installation
If either of the following conditions occur:
The SCF STATUS SAC command shows that the FCSA SAC object is still in the
STARTING state after a few minutes, or
The OSM Service Connection indicates that the resource needs attention:
check for event messages in the Event Message Service (EMS) log. Use the OSM
Event Viewer to view the EMS log. For information about and logging on to the OSM
event viewer, see the OSM Migration Guide.
Refer to the Operator Messages Manual for cause, effect, and recovery information for
event messages.
DISK Configuration (ESS Connection)
After installing the FCSA and verifying its presence in the configuration database,
perform the configuration tasks described in these subsections:
Download the Firmware
The WWNs of the FCSA Fibre Channel ports are programmed into the FCSA at the
factory so that they are worldwide unique. When you first install the FCSA, you need to
download the firmware by adding and starting disks for the WWNs to become visible in
the STATUS ADAPTER command. You need these WWNs to complete the FCSA to
ESS Connection Form that you must give to the ESS administrator.
