Relocating an FCSA

Locate the New Slot
Locate the New Slot
Find the IOAM group, module, and slot containing the FCSA to be relocated and the
empty slot where you will relocate it. The empty slot contains a double-high filler pane.
Remove the filler panel (part number 527829)from the slot where you are relocating
the FCSA. Set aside the filler panel. You will reinstall the filler panel in the slot left
vacant by the FCSA you move.
Change the Labels on the Fibre Channel Cables
1. Remove the existing labels.
2. Follow the procedure described in Label the Fibre Channel Cables on page 3-6 to
label the FC cables with the new location information.
Complete the Configuration Form
Follow the procedure described in Start Completing the Configuration Forms on
page 2-4 to complete new configuration forms for the relocated FCSA.

Remove the Adapter
1. Disconnect the Fibre Channel cables one at a time by squeezing the plastic
retaining clip at the end of the cable and gently pulling.
2. Protect the equipment from electrostatic discharge:
a. Place an antistatic table mat on a flat horizontal work surface near the IOAM
enclosure.
b. Put on an ESD wrist strap.
