Fibre Channel ServerNet Adapter Installation and Support Guide (G06.28+, H06.06+, J06.03+)
Table 2-1 How to Fill in the Location of the FCSA (continued)
Where to Obtain the InformationField
Use the scroll keys on the LCD on the I/O switch in the
IOAM to scroll to the group number information of
the IOAM.
Group Number
Possible module numbers are 2 and 3.Module Number
Check the slot number on the IOAM enclosure frame.
FCSAs installation slots differ by server model. To
determine the installation slots for your FCSAs, see the
planning guide for your server model (for example,
the Integrity NonStop NS1000 Planning Guide).
Slot Number
When an FCSA is installed, it is automatically assigned a name in the configuration database
that is a concatenation of:
• The name of the storage subsystem manager ($ZZSTO)
• The type of adapter (FCSA)
• The IOAM enclosure location (group, module, slot) where the adapter is installed
For example, the name of the FCSA installed in slot 2 of the group 11 IOAM enclosure
is:
$ZZSTO.#FCSA.GRP-11.MOD-2.SLOT-2
This name is used in SCF STATUS and INFO commands and appears in the resulting
reports of these commands.
3. Record the information for adding disks to the configuration database on your FCSA
configuration form. Because you can have 512 of some of the disk attributes, extra forms are
provided for these attributes in Appendix A, FCSA Configuration Forms for ESS Connections.
Each of these forms provides space for recording 100 of the various attributes. Print as many
as you need for your configuration.
Table 2-2 describes these attributes. (For a full description of these attributes, see the SCF
Reference Manual for the Storage Subsystem.) You need this information for the “Disk
Configuration (ESS Connection)” procedure.
Table 2-2 SCF ADD DISK Command Attribute Names for ESS Connections
DescriptionSCF Attribute Name/ Attribute Value
The attribute values specify the primary and backup
processor locations of the DISK object.
PRIMARYCPU numberBACKUPCPU number
The attribute values specify the group, module, and
slot of the primary and backup FCSAs. (For fault
tolerance, the backup should be in an FCSA in a
different IOAM logical module.) For a picture relating
the attributes to the storage-subsystem path, see
Figure 1-5 on page 1-13. For an example of the format
of these fields, see “Disk Configuration (ESS
Connection)” (page 39).
PRIMARYLOCATION ( g,m,s )BACKUPLOCATION

* Command View used by the FC switch and ESS
administrators refers to the LUN in hexadecimal
format. SCF refers to the LUN in decimal format. Both
the Command View and SCF refer to the WWNs in
hexadecimal format.
