Fibre Channel ServerNet Adapter Installation and Support Guide (G06.28+, H06.06+, J06.03+)

Table 2-2 SCF ADD DISK Command Attribute Names for ESS Connections (continued)
DescriptionSCF Attribute Name/ Attribute Value
The attribute values specify the group, module, and
slot of the primary and backup FCSAs for the mirror
DISK object. (For fault tolerance, the backup should be
in an FCSA in a different IOAM logical module.) See
“Disk Configuration (ESS Connection)” (page 39)for
an example of the format of these fields.
MIRRORLOCATION ( g,m,s ),MBACKUPLOCATION
( g,m,s )
The attribute values specify the primary and backup
SACs for the DISK object. (For fault tolerance, they
should be in an FCSA in a different IOAM logical
module.)
PRIMARYSAC {number | name}BACKUPSAC
{number | name}
The attribute values specify the primary and backup
SACs for the mirror DISK objects. (For fault-tolerance,
these should be different from the primaries and
backupsac.)
MIRRRRORSAC {number | name}MBACKUPSAC
{number | name}
The attribute values specify the WWNs of the primary
and backup Fibre Channel ports on the ESS. Obtain
this information from the ESS administrator. (The
choices should be guided by the overall fault-tolerant
strategy for the storage subsystem configuration.) You
can have 256 primary and backup ports on each FCSA
SAC.
PRIMARYPORTNAMEnumberBACKUPPORTNAME
number
The attribute values specify the WWNs of the mirror
primary and backup Fibre Channel ports on the ESS.
Obtain this information from the ESS administrator.
(The choices should be guided by the overall
fault-tolerant strategy for the storage subsystem
configuration.) You can have 256 mirror port and
mirror backup ports on each FCSA SAC.
MIRRORPORTNAMEnumberMBACKUPPORTNAME
number
The attribute value the primary and disk volumes in
the ESS for this DISK object. This information must be
provided by the ESS administrator, and the choices
should be guided by the overall fault-tolerant strategy
for the storage subsystem configuration. You can have
256 primary LUNs on each FCSA SAC.
PRIMARYLUN number*
The attribute value specifies the primary and mirror
disk volumes for this DISK object. This information
must be provided by the ESS administrator and the
choices should be guided by the overall fault-tolerant
strategy for the storage subsystem configuration. You
can have 256 primary and mirror LUNs on each FCSA
SAC.
MIRRORLUN number*
* Command View used by the FC switch and ESS
administrators refers to the LUN in hexadecimal
format. SCF refers to the LUN in decimal format. Both
the Command View and SCF refer to the WWNs in
hexadecimal format.
NOTE: You can add 256 DISK objects on each FCSA SAC.
When you complete the FCSA configuration form, place it in your Documentation Packet (if
applicable). For more information about the Documentation Packet, see the planning guide for
your server model (for example, the Integrity NonStop NS-Series Planning Guide).
