Tape Configuration
NOTE: For a list of tape devices supported for use with NonStop S-series servers, see the NonStop
S-Series Hardware Installation and FastPath Guide. For a list of tape devices supported for use with
Integrity NS-series servers, see the NonStop NS-Series Hardware Installation Guide.
NOTE: For information about configuring fibre channel tape drives, refer to the manual for the
particular tape drive product.
NonStop S-series servers and Integrity NonStop NS-series servers can interface to SCSI-attached
tape drives by means of an M8201R Fibre Channel to SCSI router. Each M8201R router connected
to an FCSA provides access to two SCSI tape drives through two ports labeled Port 1 and Port
2.
To configure a tape drive connected to the FCSA through an M8201R router, issue this SCF ADD
TAPE command:
ADD [ / OUT file-spec / ] TAPE $tape ,
LOCATION group,module,slot) ,
LUN lun
PORTNAME word-wide-name
SAC sac-id ,
SENDTO STORAGE
Directs all SCF output to the specified file.
OUT file-spec
Names the tape device.
TAPE $tape
Specifies the location of the adapter where the tape drive
is connected.
LOCATION (group,module,slot)
Specifies the logical unit number (LUN) corresponding
to a port on the M8201 router that provides a SCSI
connection to a tape device. Port on M8201 LUN
specification Port 0 LUN 1 Port 1 LUN 3
LUN lun-number
Specifies the worldwide port name (WWPN) of the port
on the M8201 router that provides a Fibre Channel
connection to the Integrity NonStop NS-series server.
PORTNAME word-wide-name
Identifies the SAC that controls the primary path to the
device. sac-id can be either a number or the full name
of the SAC.
SAC sac-id
This example command adds two TAPE objects using the same SAC to communicate with two
SCSI tape devices through the ports of an M8201R router:
-> ADD TAPE $tape1, &
-> LOCATION (110,3,2),&
-> LUN 1
-> PORTNAME 100000E00Y00N000
-> SAC 2, &
-> SENDTO STORAGE
> ADD TAPE $tape2, &
-> LOCATION (110,3,2),&
-> LUN 3
-> PORTNAME 100000E00Y00N000
-> SAC 2, &
-> SENDTO STORAGE
