2 Installing and Running Flow Map

This section tells you how to install and run Flow Map Host (FMH) and Flow Map PC
(FMP). It includes information on system requirements, installing and starting Flow
Map, finding version information, and exiting Flow Map. Flow Map currently
supports data collection and display for one Tandem node at a time.
System Requirements Before you install Flow Map, make sure your Tandem system and PC meet the system
requirements listed below. See the Flow Map softdoc for software version update
information.

At least 4 megabytes (MB) of random-access memory (RAM)
VGA graphics adapter and monitor compatible with Windows 3.1
Windows-compatible mouse or other pointing device
Windows 3.1 or higher
DOS 5.0 or higher
Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 4.0
Ability to receive binary files from a Tandem system. This can be
accomplished through an intelligent terminal connection (such as PCT or
TTE) supporting IXF or other binary file-transfer protocols, a LAN connection,
or by diskette exchange with another IBM-compatible PC which has a
Tandem system connection.

SVGA graphics adapter and monitor, 17-inch display or larger, with non-
interlaced resolution of 800 x 600 or higher
486 DX33 or faster processor with math co-processor
At least 8 megabytes (MB) of random-access memory (RAM)
Access to a graphics-capable printer for printing flow diagrams and reports
