Creating A Configuration File
Flow Map Host
098935 Tandem Computers Incorporated 3–9
Each participating entity falls into one of three groups named TCP ACTIVITY, MAIL
SYSTEM, or MAIL FILES. The lack of any INCLUDE statements and the use of the
EXCLUDE statements means that these groups will result in only three icons
appearing on the initial Flow Map PC screen. There are no GROUP thresholds, so
there is a good chance that the groups will be created as long as least one entity falls
into each of the groups.
The three groups could be the only objects generated if the activity of the application is
so low that no Program, PROCESS, FILE or DISKFILE reaches the thresholds. If the
thresholds have been sensibly devised, however, there should be Program, PROCESS,
FILE, and DISKFILE objects created.
Setting thresholds too large could eliminate too many objects, while setting thresholds
too low could cause a cluttered display screen.
