To position the objects at any location, do not hold down the ALT key as you
drag.
All selected objects move together.
When you reposition objects, the arrows connecting them are not redrawn
automatically.
4. To redraw the arrows:
While the objects are still selected, choose Reconnect Object from the Connect
menu.
If the objects are no longer selected or if you reposition many objects, choose
Reconnect All from the Connect menu to redraw all arrows in the diagram.
Grouping and
Ungrouping Objects
You can group objects of the same kind and you can ungroup objects that have been
grouped previously. You can also specify that Flow Map Host create certain object
groups in the original FMH file.
You cannot group processes and files together, but you can group process groups with
other process groups and/or single processes to produce higher-level groups. You can
group files and file groups similarly. The maximum group nesting depth is 10.
To group objects:
1. Determine which objects you want to be in the group.
2. Click outside all objects to ensure no objects are selected.
3. Hold down the SHIFT key and click on each object you want to group.
4. After selecting all objects, choose Group from the Object menu.
A dialog box appears proposing a name for the group.
5. Accept or modify the proposed name and click OK.
Flow Map creates a new group, replacing the first object you clicked, and redraws
connections to it. Objects making up the group disappear from the diagram.
To ungroup objects created by Flow Map Host or by you:
1. Click on the group object and then choose Ungroup from the Object menu.
The group object disappears and all the components of the group appear on the
diagram.
If Flow Map Host created the group, the diagram is rearranged to
accommodate the component objects.
If you created the group, the component objects reappear where they were
located when the group was formed.
2. Flow Map redraws connections to the component objects.
