2 Operating System
The G06.25 RVU contains these operating system changes:
NonStop Operating System Message Quick Cells
NonStop Operating System Message Quick
Cells
The NonStop operating system now can create and manage a larger number of
message quick cells (MQCs), which are the data structures used to describe
messages for interprocess communication. The increased number of MQCs allow
more processes to communicate on large systems and improve system stability and
availability. The additional MQCs are dynamically allocated from a limited percentage
of the processor's available memory.
The PEEK utility MQCINFO option also has been enhanced to display information for
the additional cells, the total number of segments allocated for MQC use, and the free
pages of memory available for use.
Note. Previously, a %4063 software halt might occur if more MQCs could not be allocated.
See Support Note S03137 for additional background information.
