Installation and Configuration
Products
The G06.27 RVU contains new features for these installation and configuration
products:
•
DSM/SCM
•
Firmware Updates
•
VPROC
DSM/SCM
•
The INITENV change option now allows you to:
°
On a target system, transfer management of the target system from one
existing host to another. A system load is not required.
°
On a host system, change the host that is managing a target. A remote target
can be managed by a different host. You can avoid re-initialization of the target
and retain the configurations managed by DSM/SCM on the host for the target.
•
Changes in Software Identification (SWID) now enable the Apply process to
accurately determine if a system load is required.
Migration
Besides upgrading the T6031G02 client and server SPRs for DSM/SCM, you must
also upgrade the SWID product (T9298G02) at the same time to avoid a fingerprint or
mismatched file problem. (SWID is a utility used by DSM/SCM to determine if a file has
changed by a method called fingerprinting.) If an existing file has a different fingerprint
from a newer file, the existing file is replaced with the newer version.
Fallback
Consider these scenarios if you fall back to a pre-T6031G02 DSMSCM PVU:
•
If you performed a backout from G06.27 and backed out the migration from
T6031G02 to T6031D46^ABK or later, you do not need to run the FALLBACK
macro.
•
If you performed a backout from T6031G02 to a pre-T6031D46^ABK (but post-
T6031D46) PVU, you must run the FALLBACK macro. The FALLBACK macro
removes Safeguard alias security profile information from the database. The
security profile information will be exactly the same before installing
T6031D46^ABK. OSS management information from the DSM/SCM databases is
left intact.
