SeeView
SeeView
Both NonStop SeeView (T6965) and SeeView Server Gateway (T8488) now support
high process identification numbers (PINs) and first-in-first-out (FIFO) queuing.
The SeeView Server Gateway SET GATEWAY HIGHPINTASKS ON/OFF option
specifies how the SeeView Server Gateway starts subordinate command
interpreter (CI) tasks. ON causes the Gateway to start all subordinate CI tasks as
high PINs (processes with a process ID greater 255). OFF causes the Gateway to
start all subordinate CI tasks as low PINs (processes with a process ID less than
255). The default value is OFF to maintain compatibility with prior versions of the
Gateway. However, if the supply of low PINs on a system becomes exhausted, set
HIGHPINTASKS to ON to start CIs as high PIN processes.
The SeeView ALTER HIGHPINSTASKS ON/OFF option enables processes started
by SeeView to run as high PIN processes.
The ALTER FIFOPEER ON/OFF option indicates whether peer process prompts
are processed in first-in-first-out (FIFO) order or in last-in-first-out (LIFO) order. The
default is FIFO OFF for the SeeView product and FIFO ON for the SeeView Server
Gateway product.
For details, see the SeeView Manual and the SeeView Server Gateway (SSG) Manual.
SWID
Software Identification (SWID) is changed to accurately fingerprint the OSIMAGE file,
thereby enabling an Apply process to accurately determine if a new configuration can
be applied to a running SYSnn and avoid an unnecessary system load. This new
feature fingerprints only the functional areas of the OSIMAGE file. SWID computes the
same fingerprint for OSIMAGE files generated from SYSGEN/OSBUILD with the same
input.
TSM
TSM client has been revised to T8154ABI (TSM 2005A). The only change is that the
TSM Low-Level Link Application has been replaced by the OSM Low-Level Link.
After installing T8154ABI (or later), when you select Start > Programs > Compaq TSM
> Low-Level Link Application, the OSM Low-Level Link is launched. Basic functionality
is the same. For the interface changes, see the TSM ReadMe.
