Summary of the SPR Installation Procedure

1. Use Scout to verify that you can apply the DSM/SCM SPR to your current G-series

RVU.

2. Use DSM/SCM to install the required SPRs. For detailed instructions, see

Appendix A, Using DSM/SCM to Install SPRs.

3. Update the firmware or boot code if needed. Update also any Maintenance Entity

(ME) firmware.

4. Use the INSTALL^TEMPLATES macro located in the TACLMACS file to install

EMS template object files from SPRs on a running system if SYSGEN and system

load are not required. If a SYSGEN is required, do not run the

INSTALL^TEMPLATES macro.

5. Run ZPHIRNM.

6. Perform a system load if SYSGEN is required.

7. Update SWAN and other firmware as needed.

DSM/SCM T6031ABU SPR

Since G06.18, you must install both the client and server-side T6031D46 or later

product to manage OSS files. HP recommends that you upgrade to the newest SPR of

DSM/SCM. Apply the T6031ABU SPR of DSM/SCM before receiving the G06.29 SUT.

After you activate the T6031ABU server software, the ZDSMEXE file will be available

to download from the ZDSMSCM subvolume so that you can update the client. (You do

not need to update the DSM/SCM client to the T6031G02 server side immediately to

receive the G06.29 RVU successfully.) However, HP recommends that, for your

production environment, both the client and server side of DSM/SCM PVUs match.

instructions for installing a G02 PVU of DSM/SCM, including the client.

Determining Your Current DSM/SCM Version

To verify which version of DSM/SCM is currently installed on your system, use the

VPROC command to determine the product version of TAEXE (Apply product of

DSM/SCM) and CBEXE (Build product of DSM/SCM). At a TACL prompt, enter:

> volume $dsmscm_vol.ZDSMSCM

> vproc taexe

> vproc cbexe

If this DSM/SCM product version exists (T6031D46^ABK) on your current system

(SYSnn), do not run the FALLBACK macro if you have to back out the revision:

Caution. You must install at least a D46 client version of DSM/SCM to activate DSM/SCM

management of OSS files for a target. HP recommends that you install T6031G02.
