DP2 Fallback SPR
DP2 Fallback SPR
Once you have installed the G06.29 or later RVU and created Format 2 files, a DP2
fallback SPR is required to safely fall back to a pre-G06.28 RVU. The required DP2
fallback SPR is T9053G11^AQS. If you fall back and then attempt to access a Format
2 file, and this SPR is not installed, outages caused by data corruption or CPU halts
are likely to occur.
T9053G11^AQS is preinstalled in systems running G06.28; for those systems, no
action is required. You can install the SPR on systems running G06.24 through
G06.27, as long as all prerequisites are included:
•
If you are currently running the G06.23 RVU, consider upgrading to G06.28 before
upgrading to G06.29 to facilitate fallback if fallback becomes necessary.
•
If you are currently running a G06.24 through G06.27 RVU, HP strongly
recommends that you install the fallback SPR before migrating to G06.29. The
installation of T9053AQS requires a system load.)
The DP2 fallback SPR requires that the following SPRs also be installed:
Table 4-3. SPRs Required for NonStop SQL/MX Release 2.0 Fallback
Product
SPR (or
Superseding) Notes
DP2 T9053APO, if the
system uses the
online disk remirror
feature
T9053APG, if the
node does not use
the online disk
remirror feature
If applied, a system load is required before
upgrading to the new RVU. The SPRs are
applicable to the G06.13 through G06.22
RVUs. See DP2
on page 2-3.

To minimize the risks involved with falling
back without a clean TMF shutdown, use
the appropriate SQL GOAWAY utility to
drop all SQL/MX objects and their resource
forks. Before doing so, see Migration
Considerations for NonStop SQL/MX
Release 2.1.1 on page 2-12.
TMF T8607AF
n
No fallback SPRs are required if you are
running on G06.18 through G06.23 or if a
TMF clean shutdown is performed and other
installation and fallback steps are taken for
NonStop SQL/MX Release 2.0.
WARNING. If you do not install the DP2 fallback SPR before migrating to G06.29 and a
fallback becomes necessary, you must perform a system load on the prior RVU, and then,
before using any OSS files, you must install and coldload to the DP2 SPR.
