6 Manageability Products The G06.32 RVU contains these new features and products for manageability products: • • Safeguard Enhancements Secure Shell Server Safeguard Enhancements Attributes Can Be Reset Safeguard now resets the attributes STATIC FAILED LOGON COUNT and LASTUNSUCCESSFUL-ATTEMPT. The STATIC FAILED LOGON COUNT attribute indicates the number of failed logon attempts since the creation of the user. The LAST-UNSUCCESSFUL-ATTEMPT indicates the timestamp of the user's last failed logon attempt.
Safeguard Enhancements Manageability Products Logon Without a Password Safeguard is enhanced to allow users to logon without a password. This feature, known as PRIV-LOGON, provides a mechanism whereby applications that invoke the USER_AUTHENTICATE_() procedure to perform user/alias logons can do so without specifying a password. (This feature contrasts with NORMAL-LOGON, which requires a password.
Safeguard Enhancements Manageability Products Also introduced is the error token zSFG-err-privlgnnonobj, with the text “unable to set PRIV-LOGON for non-object file.” AUDITCLEARONPURGE Feature A new attribute, AUDITCLEARONPURGE, is provided. This attribute enables you to control the setting of the CLEARONPURGE flag when creating new audit files. Previously, the CLEARONPURGE flag was set unconditionally to ON, which triggered disk writes to zero out the contents whenever an audit file was purged.
Secure Shell Server Manageability Products TACL> safecom/out.$system.safe.safevalu/ =display as commands on =info safeguard, detail The output from these commands is retained in a file named SAFEVALU, located in $SYSTEM.SAFE. Run this file in SAFECOM to restore the settings after migration. For more information, see Chapter 10 of the Safeguard Administrator's Manual. Safeguard Fallback Consideration The Safeguard audit enhancements have changed only audit file records.

A Sources for Migration Assistance and Information This appendix describes the assistance HP provides when problems arise during the migration and testing process. HP also provides services that can help you develop a migration plan and implement migration tasks. Most migration and release documentation is available through the HP NonStop Technical Library (NTL).
Sources for Migration Assistance and Information Information on the Site Update Tape (SUT) Information on the Site Update Tape (SUT) These documents are available on the Y9230Gnn release subvolume located on the SUT for each G-series RVU: • Content file Contains a list of the product versions and software product revisions (SPRs) that are included on the site update tape (SUT). • README This file contains information that was not yet available when the manuals or softdocs were published.
Sources for Migration Assistance and Information NonStop Technical Library (NTL) NonStop Technical Library (NTL) In addition to this compendium, RVU and migration information is available in several other documents and manuals that you can access through NTL. Information is provided about planning your site for a new NonStop server, product installation and configuration, product availability in a particular RVU, and performance information for a specific RVU. • G06.
