TSM and OSM Client Applications
If you are migrating a G-series system console to use OSM, certain client-side
requirements must be met. See the
NonStop System Console Installer Guide
and the
OSM Migration and Configuration Guide
for PC system requirements and information
on migrating to OSM.
Unless OSM is already installed and configured on your server, use the TSM client and
TSM server software to update firmware and perform a system load to the new G06.32
RVU.
You can have both the TSM client and the OSM client-based components on your
system consoles. To avoid duplicate dial-outs, use either the OSM Notification Director
(ND) or TSM Notification Director, but not both. However, as of G06.15, HP Insight
Remote Support Advanced is the go-forward remote support solution for NonStop
systems, replacing the TSM Notification Director and the OSM Notification Director in
both modem-based and HP Instant Support Enterprise Edition (ISEE) remote support
solutions. For more information on Insight Remote Support Advanced, refer to

in the Support and Services collection of NTL.
HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM)
HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM) can now be used in conjunction with OSM
software to help manage your NonStop servers. HP SIM supports the NonStop
platform via Web-Based Enterprise Management (WEBM) provided by OSM. HP SIM
is capable of discovering NonStop systems, displaying and forwarding alarms
generated by OSM, and collecting NonStop system and device data.
HP SIM can be installed from the NSC Installer CD S7X-SWV1/HNSC-SW1, Update 9,
or later (for installation details, see the
NonStop System Console Installer Guide
).
Using HP SIM in the NonStop environment requires:

OSM server version T0682G07^AAM or later (although to use in conjunction with
Insight Remote Support Advanced, T0682G07^ABY or later is required)
•
For remote support services, either:
•
OSM Notification Director version T0632AAN or later
•
Insight Remote Support Advanced (which, in turn, requires HP SIM 5.3 or later)
•
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) must be enabled in OSM (for details, see the
OSM
Migration and Configuration Guide
)
TSM and OSM Client Applications
After installing the appropriate SPRs, including the latest TSM server SPR (see
DSM/SCM T6031G07^ACH SPR on page 4-3), upgrade your TSM client software to
the latest version.
Note. In future RVUs, only OSM will support new functionality.
