OSM Client-Based Components (S7X-SWV2/HNSC-
SWV2, Update 4)
Use the HP NonStop System Console Installer CD to upgrade TSM applications on the
Windows operating system. For instructions on using this DVD to upgrade your system
console, see the
HP NonStop System Console Installer Guide .
After installing the latest TSM server and client software, use the TSM Service
Application and the OSM Low-Level Link Application to update firmware and to halt
and restart the system. After you have migrated to G06.32, you can then install and
configure OSM (if not previously installed).
Beginning with TSM client T8154ABI (TSM 2005A), the TSM Low-Level Link is
replaced by the OSM Low-Level Link. Installed by the TSM installer, the OSM Low-
Level Link looks and functions much like the TSM Low-Level Link. While basic
functionality is the same, interface changes include:
•
Logging on: You log on by using the System List (as with the TSM Low-Level Link)
or by providing an IP address or Host Name (fully qualified domain name (FQDN)).

View pane: Only the Inventory view is displayed in the OSM Low-Level Link.
(There is no Physical or Connection view.)
•
The OSM Low-Level Link has a direct link to the SP tool. (Select Advanced
Service Processor Tool from the Tools menu).
•
The OSM Low-Level Link does not have a direct link to the TSM Event Viewer
(Instead, select Start > Programs > Compaq TSM > TSM Event Viewer.)
•
The Action Status Summary is not available in the OSM Low-Level Link.
•
The Single SP Firmware update is also not available on the menu bar. Use the
right-click and Actions instead.
OSM Client-Based Components (S7X-SWV2/HNSC-SWV2,
Update 4)
NonStop System Console software is dual-threaded, meaning that it is used for both
G-series and H-series. At G06.32, the HP NonStop System Console DVD, S7X-
SWV2/HNSC-SWV2, Update 4, contains the latest available console software. For

OSM is designed to support new functions available in G06.21 and later RVUs.
Client installation instructions are included in the NonStop System Console Installer
Guide . There are three client-based OSM components. All OSM components are
installed from the NonStop System Console Installer DVD, either from the master
installer or individually from their own separate installers.
For Installer S7X-SWV2/HNSC-SWV2, Update 4, the client components are OSM Low-
Level Link, OSM Notification Director, and OSM Console Tools:
OSM Low-Level Link. S7X-SWV2/HNSC-SWV2, Update 4, includes
the T6033ABB SPR.
