Before You Begin Installing the Software
Identification (SWID) and DSM/SCM SPRs
Besides upgrading the T6031 client and server SPRs for DSM/SCM, you must also
upgrade the Software Identification (SWID) (T9298G02) product at the same time to
avoid a problem with mismatched files. (SWID is a utility used by DSM/SCM to
determine if a file has changed by a method called
fingerprinting
.) If an existing file has
a different fingerprint from a newer file, the existing file is replaced with the newer
version.
Alerts
You must install the most recent SWID SPR (T9298G02) when you install the
DSM/SCM T6031G07^ACH SPR. You must install the SWID product at the same
time to avert a problem of mismatched fingerprinted files.
Before installing the newer versions of SWID and DSM/SCM, check for any
products that might experience regressions as a result of the install. See Check
Products With Possible Regressions on page 5-16.
