Safeguard Password Enhancements (G06.31)

The maximum allowed Safeguard password length is increased from 8 bytes to 64
bytes.

New password quality attributes are introduced.
Maximum Password Length Increased
The maximum allowed password length is increased from 8 bytes to 64 bytes. The
following new configuration attributes are introduced to facilitate the longer password
feature for users who migrate from pre-G06.31 to G06.31 or later versions of
Safeguard and Standard Security:
The following existing attribute is modified:
PASSWORD-COMPATIBILITY-MODE
The new password configuration attribute PASSWORD-COMPATIBILITY-MODE is
used to determine whether a given user or alias is allowed to set passwords longer
than eight characters.
PASSWORD-MAXIMUM-LENGTH
The other new password configuration attribute, PASSWORD-MAXIMUM-LENGTH,
specifies the maximum length allowed for the passwords being set or changed.
PASSWORD-MINIMUM-LENGTH
The maximum value of PASSWORD-MINIMUM-LENGTH is increased from eight to 64
characters.
Embedded Spaces and Password Quality Enhancements
The versions of Standard Security and Safeguard released with the G06.31 RVU
introduce these password quality attributes:
