Volume Protection Records and OSS File Creation
Volume Protection Records and OSS File Creation
Starting in G06.26, if you have Safeguard volume-protection records added to prevent
or allow creation of OSS files, they are no longer required for OSS file creation. The
volume protection records can be revised or removed, depending on how they were
designed. If the volume protection records exist as part of a Guardian security policy
and have to be modified to accommodate OSS, the accommodations can now be
removed. For fallback information, see the Interactive Upgrade Guide 2.
WAN Wizard Pro
The NonStop System Console Installer DVD (S7X-SWV2/HNSC-SWV2, Update 4)
includes the WAN Wizard Pro client version 5.00. This client version is compatible with
G06.21 and later SUTs only. If you have to fall back to a pre-G06.21 RVU, you must
deinstall the previous WAN Wizard Pro and reinstall the previous WAN Wizard Pro on
your system console. See the WAN Wizard Pro Support Note S04064 for details.
X25AM
A new SCF line modifier, EMSFORFRMR, is provided so that an EMS message is
displayed when a link reset occurs from a Frame Reject (FRMR) condition on an
X25AM line. The modifier accepts values in the range from 0 to 200. Configure this
SCF modifier with a nonzero value to enable the generation of an EMS message
during an FRMR condition. (By default, the feature is disabled.)
For more information, see the
X25AM Configuration and Management Manual
and the
X25AM Management Programming Manual

ServerNet Cluster
Starting in G06.28, the HP NonStop ServerNet Switch (model 6780) can support the
long-distance option in a three-zone configuration of the layered topology. Prior to
G06.28, the long-distance option was restricted to a two-zone configuration. To use the
new ServerNet Cluster long-distance option in a three-zone configuration, you must
install the G06.28 or later RVU or the T0502G08^AAQ or later SPR.
HP recommends upgrading the NonStop S-Series servers to at least the G06.28 RVU
if the servers will co-exist with NonStop NS-Series servers in the same long-distance
cluster. G06.28 and later contain at least T9050G09^AQB to correct a performance
defect that affects IPC (Inter-Processor Communication) long-distance cluster transfers
to and from NonStop NS-Series servers. For details, see the T9050G09^AQB softdoc.
Other than the T0502G08^AAQ or later SPR, a three-zone long-distance configuration
requires the same SPRs as a two-zone long-distance configuration.
If the NonStop S-series servers will co-exist with NonStop BladeSystems in the same
cluster, you must upgrade to SNETMON (T0294AAX or later) and SANMAN
(T0502AAX or later) SPRs that are required for connectivity with BladeSystems. These
SPRs are available with the G06.32 and later RVUs.
