About This Manual
This preface describes the purpose and contents of the GDSX Management

Interface (SPI) and the Event Management Service (EMS).
Purpose of This Manual
This manual serves both as a reference manual as well as a users guide to enable the
development of management applications that use the GDS subsystem.
Who Should Use This Manual
This manual is meant for programmers with experience in systems and application
programming. Specifically, it is meant for, programmers that belong to either of these
categories:
TAL programmers, and COBOL85 programmers using ENTER TAL, who are

TACL users who are writing macros to perform system and network management
