is the G4SA’s physical interface (PIF). G4SA ports and “PIFs” are interchangeable
terms. A PIF is part of the SLSA subsystem and represents the physical port on the
G4SA. A G4SA has four PIFs: A, B, C, and D.

is an alphabetic value (A-Z) assigned automatically by the WAN manager process.

is an alphanumeric value (A-Z or 0-9) assigned automatically by the WAN manager
process.
