Complete the Planning and Configuration Forms
Complete the G4SA Planning and Configuration Forms for each G4SA you are adding
to your system (see Appendix A, G4SA Planning and Configuration Forms).
To add a G4SA to an IOAM enclosure, specify the:
•
Name you want to use to identify the adapter; for example, G1123 for a G4SA in
IOAM group 11, module 2, and slot 3 of the first IOAM enclosure.
•
Location of the adapter within the NonStop NS-series or NonStop BladeSystem
cabinet (group, module, and slot).
•
Processors that have access to the SAC on the adapter.
•
Name of the IOAM in the System Name field.
•
Group number for this IOAM enclosure in the Group Number field.
•
Slot number of this G4SA in the Slot Number field. Supported G4SA installation
slots differ by system type. To determine the supported installation slots for your
G4SA, see the planning guide for your system (for example, the Integrity NonStop
NS1000 Planning Guide).
•
For the Ethernet Port information block, enter:
°
The IP or network address to be assigned to the port in the IP Address field.
°
The adapter name. (See the Manufacturing Naming Conventions (G06.26 and
Earlier RVUs) on page 1-9 or Manufacturing Naming Conventions (H06.03 and
Later RVUs and J06.03 and Later RVUs) on page 1-11.)
°
The SAC name.
°
The number of the processor(s) that will have access to the SAC in the SAC
Access List field. The first processor listed is the preferred processor.
°
The physical interface (PIF) name associated with the SAC in the PIF Name
field.
°
The logical interface (LIF) name associated with the PIF in the LIF Name field.
•
Current date in the Date field.
When you have finished using the G4SA Configuration Form, place it in your
Documentation Packet (if available). For more information about the Documentation
Packet, see the planning guide for your system (for example, the NonStop S-Series
Planning and Configuration Guide).
For more information about naming a G4SA, see the LAN Configuration and
Management Manual.
