You will need the following tools to install a G4SA:
You can purchase an ESD kit from HP or from a local electronics store.
Review Standard Operating Practices
Standard operating practices include:
Work in an ESD-protected environment (see Figure 2-1).
Remove all metal accessories such as watches before working with the equipment.
Ensure your ESD wriststrap has a built-in series resistor and that the kit includes
an antistatic table mat.
Before unpacking a replacement G4SA, place the adapter package on the
antistatic table mat and attach the grounding clip on your ESD wriststrap to an
antistatic mat.
When unpacking a G4SA, do not cut into the ESD protective bag surrounding the
adapter. This bag protects the adapter and can be reused for storing an adapter.
Before moving a G4SA from the antistatic table mat, attach the grounding clip on
your ESD wriststrap to any unpainted metal surface on the G4SA.
Before bringing a G4SA in contact with an IOAM enclosure, attach the grounding
clip on your ESD wriststrap to any unpainted metal surface on the enclosure frame.
Store G4SAs that require ESD protection in ESD protective bags.
