Install the G4SA
Install the G4SA
1. Disconnect the grounding clip of your ESD wrist strap from the antistatic mat, then
connect it to an unpainted metal surface on the G4SA.
2. Grasp the G4SA by its purple ejector latch in one hand and support the bottom
edge of the G4SA with the other hand. Carry the G4SA to the rear of the IOAM
enclosure. Set the G4SA down on an antistatic mat with the ejector latch at the
top.
3. Disconnect the grounding clip of your ESD wrist strap from the G4SA and connect
it to an unpainted metal surface on either the IOAM enclosure or on the rack in
which the enclosure is installed.
4. Using both hands, hold the G4SA so that its ejector latch is at the top and its
faceplate is facing toward you. Insert the adapter into its slot in the enclosure. Push
the G4SA to the rear of its slot, but do not force it.
Note. The G4SA weighs approximately 7 pounds (3 kilograms).
Caution. To avoid damaging the connector pins, apply equal pressure to both the top and
bottom of the G4SA when pushing it into its slot. If you try to push the G4SA into its slot when
the pins in either the G4SA or the midplane are damaged, you must replace both the G4SA
and the IOAM enclosure.
