Print the G4SA Planning Worksheet and use it to record information about a G4SA.
For this worksheet, see Appendix A, G4SA Planning and Configuration Forms.
Identify Any Communications Lines and ServerNet Wide Area
Network (SWAN) Using the G4SA
The subsystems and utilities that use the SLSA subsystem to access a G4SA are
shown in Figure 1-2 on page 1-8.
The following procedure helps you identify the subsystems and utilities that are
configured to use a G4SA. Specific instructions are provided for identifying:
•
Expand-over-IP lines
•
SWAN concentrators
•
WAN subsystem input/output processes (IOPs)
1. Use the SCF INFO LIF command to determine the names of the logical interfaces
(LIFs) and the physical interfaces (PIFs) associated with the G4SA to be replaced
(see Example 3-1). Write down the associated LIF and PIF names on your
planning worksheet (see Appendix A, G4SA Planning and Configuration Forms).
INFO LIF $ZZLAN.*
2. Use the SCF INFO SUBNET command to determine the TCP/IP processes,
SUBNETS, and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses associated with the LIFs on the
G4SA to be replaced. Write down the associated LIFs, TCP/IP process
SUBNETs, and IP addresses on your worksheet.
INFO SUBNET $*.*
In Example 3-2
, which is a partial output, the G4SA LIF named L112J is associated
with the SUBNET named #SN1 on the TCP/IP process named $ZB and has the IP
address 172.16.40.64.
Note. Write down the information you obtain during this procedure. You can record this
information on the planning worksheet provided, or you can use the SCF LOG command to
capture both the command and the display that is produced to a file. To start logging, type LOG
logfilename at the SCF prompt. To stop logging, type LOG at the SCF prompt.
