4 Relocating a G4SA
This section describes how to relocate a Gigabit Ethernet 4-port ServerNet adapter
(G4SA) that has been previously installed in an IOAM enclosure.
This section includes the following topics:
Prepare to Relocate a G4SA
Supported G4SA installation slots differ by system type. To determine the supported
installation slots for your G4SA, see the planning guide for your system (for example,
the Integrity NonStop NS1000 Planning Guide).
There are two IOAMs in an NonStop NS-series IOAM enclosure, up to 4 IOAMs in a
NonStop BladeSystem enclosure, and up to 3 IOAMs in a 19-inch NonStop S-series
rack. G4SA slots should not be left empty. When no G4SA is installed in a slot, a filler
panel should be installed in the empty slot to maintain proper air flow.
Gather the Proper Tools
For the proper tools, refer to Gather the Proper Tools on page 2-3.
Note. A G4SA can be relocated without shutting down the system.
