SCFIN
A SCF command file that contains SCF PRIMARY and SCF ALTER DISK, CACHE
commands for implementing GPA tuning recommendations with regard to disk and
cache.
static process control block
A Process Control Block (PCB) dedicated to a single process for the duration of the
measurement period analyzed by GPA.
system recovery
The condition whereby a system continues to function normally when a processor
failure occurs.
TMF
The Transaction Monitoring Facility is a log-based manager that protects the integrity
of a database by creating an audit trail of database changes.
transient processing
CPU activity devoted to processes whose execution life is shorter than the
measurement period analyzed by GPA.
tuning window
The amount by which the percentage busy time for a CPU can deviate, either up or
down, from the average value for the node without being considered out of balance.
The size of the tuning window depends on the utilization level of the node and the CPU
type, and decreases as the utilization level of the node goes up.
