Optional Report Sections
Optional Report Sections
In the GPA Optional Report, you specify the level of additional detailed information to
be provided. You choose the type of output you want for each report section. Three
output types are available:
•
Noprint: Skip this optional report section.
•
Summary: A breakdown of the number of processes in each CPU for each of the
following reports (each of which is a class of process).
SYSTEM
SUBSYSTEM
PATHWAY
SERVER
TRANSIENT
OTHER
•
Detail: For the above report names, this is an analysis of each process’s activity
relative to the entire class’s in four major categories: CPU utilization, queue length,
messages sent, and messages received. The Detail Section also includes the
Summary Section.
For the following optional reports, it is a detailed analysis:
CACHE
DYNAMIC
FAILURE
MOVES
PRIMARY
SCORE
Error Reports
The GPA Error Report informs you of system errors and diagnoses them. Two types of
errors can occur:
•
Fatal errors that cause GPA to terminate.
•
Non-fatal errors, on which GPA bases its performance-enhancing recommendations.
GPA Requirements
GPA does not have to be run on the system being analyzed; the Measure data can be
moved to another Tandem system.
