Guardian Native C Library Calls Reference Manual (G06.28+, H06.04+)
About This Manual
The Guardian Native C Library Calls Reference Manual contains reference pages for the
functions in the Guardian TNS/R and TNS/E native C run-time libraries. The native C
run-time library can only be used by native programs. Refer to the Guardian TNS C
Library Calls Reference Manual for information about the Guardian TNS C run-time
library. Refer to the Open System Services Library Calls Reference Manual for
information about C library calls in the OSS environment.
Unless otherwise indicated in the text, discussions of native mode behavior, processes,
and so forth apply to both the TNS/R code that runs on G-series systems and to the
TNS/E code that runs on H-series systems. Discussions of TNS or accelerated code
behavior in the OSS environment apply only to G-series systems; H-series systems do
not support TNS or accelerated code execution in the OSS environment.
HP includes several extensions to the ISO/ANSI C Standard that makes C an effective
language for writing applications that run on the HP NonStop operating system. These
extensions include support for fault tolerant process pairs and systems programming.
The STANDARDS CONFORMANCE heading identifies those functions that are HP
extensions to the ISO/ANSI C Standard and XPG4 specification.
Refer to the C/C++ Programmer’s Guide for a complete description of the C
programming environments available with the HP NonStop operating system.
Audience
This manual is for system and application programmers who use the C application
program interface from native programs in the Guardian environment. The manual
assumes that the reader is familiar with the C programming language.
