REPOSITION Procedure
(Superseded by FILE_RESTOREPOSITION_

indicates a saved position to be repositioned to. This should not be altered by the
user.
Condition Code Settings
< (CCL) indicates that an error occurred (call FILE_GETINFO_ or FILEINFO).
= (CCE) indicates that REPOSITION is successful.
> (CCG) indicates that the file is not a disk file.
Considerations
•
The REPOSITION procedure cannot be used with format 2 files. If an attempt is
made to use the REPOSITION procedure with format 2 files, error 581 is returned.
