f. Once the installation is complete, enter:
# service snmpd restart
5. Setup e-mail or text notifications in one of two ways:
• Use HP SIM to setup e-mail or text notifications when warnings or errors occur on the
VTS, as described in “Getting E-mail or Text Notifications” (page 25).
• Use HP System Management Homepage (SMH) and edit the SNMP configuration file to
send trap notifications on the CMS where HP SIM is installed, as follows:
a. Login to HP SMH as the root user:
https://<ipaddressofvts>:2381
b. From the Settings page, select SNMP Webagent.
c. Select SNMP Configuration.
d. The SNMP Configuration page displays the SNMP configuration file.
NOTE: If you make a change to the SNMP configuration file, you must restart the
SNMP service.
