Connecting to InfoWay via
SysWay
Many customers use the SysWay communications product over X25AM to access the
InfoWay service, which provides electronic access to the Tandem account team and to
Tandem product information. InfoWay resides on a Tandem corporate system. You
can access InfoWay over an X25AM line in the following way (see Figure 2-11):
From a Tandem NonStop system connected by a leased line to an InfoWay service
point or to a PSDN
From a PC or workstation using an X.25 PAD to connect to a PSDN
SysWay is a gateway that temporarily and transparently connects two Tandem
systems not connected by Expand. With SysWay, the InfoWay services and databases
appear local to your Tandem system. InfoWay databases include the following kinds
of information:
SOFTDOCS — Technical information on new features and problems corrected in
Tandem products.
Marketing literature — Datasheets, product bulletins, press releases.
Tandem Alliance literature — Descriptions of solutions already available to fit
your business needs.
Education schedules — Descriptions of courses and a calendar of courses to help
you plan for your staff’s training needs.
