TRANSFER Asynchronous Processes
TRANSFER asynchronous processes schedule packages for delivery, route packages to 
the appropriate recipients, and deliver packages within the time specified by the sender. 
If a network node is unavailable, the processes ensure that packages destined for the 
node are delivered as soon as the node becomes available. The TRANSFER 
asynchronous processes also cancel packages and arrange for their expiration.
Some TRANSFER asynchronous processes are requesters; others are servers. 
Application requesters do not communicate directly with the TRANSFER asynchronous 
server processes.  To send a package, a requester sends a request to the TRANSFER 
Interactive Server, which in turn contacts a TRANSFER asynchronous process. To 
deliver a package or notify the sender of an error condition, a TRANSFER 
asynchronous requester process sends requests to TISERV.  When the package or 
notification arrives at the the depot, it can be retrieved by a client or agent for the 
correspondent. Figure 2-6 outlines the TRANSFER processes involved in transporting a 
package from one application to another.
