PS MAIL Messages and Attachments
TRANSFER packages in PS MAIL consist of messages and attachments. Each message
resembles a business memo, having a heading and a body.
The heading has the format:
If the message is a reply to another message or a forwarding of another message, the
heading also includes one of the following:
PS MAIL solicits information for the heading when the correspondent prepares to send a
message. PS MAIL also lets the correspondent state the earliest and latest times the
message can be delivered, when it is to expire, what its priority is (low, normal, or
urgent), and whether delivery should be certified.
The body of a message consists of ASCII text or other data.
A correspondent can compose a message in the following ways:
■ Typing the text of the message on one of the PS MAIL screens or a user-written
screen
■ Adding attachments by using messages and their attachments that have been
previously filed in folders
■ Adding a copy of a GUARDIAN 90 file as an attachment to a mail message, putting
it into an item in the TRANSFER database
■ Adding a GUARDIAN 90 file itself as an attachment to a mail message, keeping it
as a GUARDIAN 90 file outside the TRANSFER database
■ Adding a copy of a PC file to a mail message
