PS MAIL and Agents
The PS MAIL application can take advantage of two agents that Tandem provides with
TRANSFER.
■ A vacation agent can be set up for any depot to handle incoming messages when a
correspondent is unavailable for an extended period of time. Using the ADMIN
VACATION AGENT CONFIGURATION screen, the correspondent or the system
administrator indicates which of the following actions the agent should take when a
package arrives at the depot:
■ Reply—Send a standard reply to the sender of the package. The reply can also
be sent to all recipients of the original package.
■ Forward—Forward the package to another correspondent. A standard message
can be included with the forwarded package.
■ File—File the package in a specified folder.
■ Discard—Delete the package from the INBOX folder.
Correspondents can choose to have only selected applications invoke the vacation
agent. For example, a depot might have agents to file different types of messages in
different folders.
■ A print-on-delivery agent can be set up for any depot to send incoming packages to
a specified printer automatically. Using the ADMIN PRINT-ON-DELIVERY
AGENT CONFIGURATION screen, the correspondent or the system administrator
indicates to which output device incoming packages are to be directed.
