Considerations
The object-name template (wildcard notation) is supported. (See Object-Name
Templates and Wildcards on page 3-6.)
VERSION is a nonsensitive command; any user on the system can issue this
command.
Issuing a VERSION command does not change an object’s summary state.
Routine Management Tasks
This rest of this section describes how to perform routine tasks such as managing
IPXPROTO processes, retrieving configuration information, and displaying event
messages. It contains the following subsections:
Creating an IPXMGR Process on this page
Creating an IPXPROTO Process on this page
Starting an IPXPROTO Process on page 3-56
Stopping an IPXPROTO Process on page 3-56
Modifying an IPXPROTO Process on page 3-57
Removing an IPXPROTO Process on page 3-57
Retrieving Configuration Information on page 3-57
Displaying Event Messages on page 3-58
Creating an IPXMGR Process
Using a TACL RUN command, create the IPXMGR process. The following command
starts an IPXMGR process named $ZMGR:
> RUN IPXMGR /NAME $ZMGR, NOWAIT, CPU 0/ 1
The above example includes the NOWAIT and backup processor options. Refer to the
TACL Reference Manual for an explanation of the TACL RUN command and its
options.
You can configure IPXMGR as a generic process. See Task 2: Install and Configure
NonStop™ IPX/SPX on page 1-4 for information on how to do this. For more
information about generic processes, see the SCF Reference Manual for the Kernel
Subsystem.
