Task 3: Configure the NonStop™ Server for
NetWare Users
For more information on installing and configuring the Telserv software, refer to
the Telserv Guide.
•
For LAN Print Spooler for NetWare:
1. Configure a user ID on the NetWare file server for the LAN Print Spooler
for NetWare process.
2. Define NetWare print server queues and print attributes in your FASTCNFG
spooler configuration file. Configure the following objects for each NetWare
print queue:
•
The name of the NetWare file server in which the print queue will be
located.
•
The name of the print queue. Each NetWare print queue is configured as
a DEVICE in the FASTCNFG configuration file. (The default location
of the FASTCNFG file is $SYSTEM.SPOOL.FASTCNFG.)
•
The NetWare user ID that the LAN Print Spooler for NetWare process
will use to log onto the NetWare file server.
•
The password for the NetWare user ID.

information.
3. Verify the connection between a workstation on the NetWare LAN and the operating
system by running the NWSCAN and NWPING utilities from the PC6530 Terminal
Emulator (PCT) program on the workstation. The workstation user can use the
NWSCAN utility to display Service Advertising Protocol (SAP) information that
includes services on the operating system and can use the NWPING utility to verify
the connection between the workstation and the operating system.
