Introduction to NonStop™ IPX/SPX
The NonStop™ IPX/SPX subsystem allows a NonStop™ system to function as a fault-
tolerant database or transaction server on a Novell NetWare local area network (LAN).
NonStop™ IPX/SPX provides connectivity to the NetWare LAN through an
implementation of Novell’s proprietary protocol suite, Internetwork Packet
Exchange/Sequenced Packet Exchange (IPX/SPX), over Ethernet or token-ring. Client
systems are MS-DOS or Microsoft Windows workstations on the LAN, as shown in
Figure 2-1
