File-Transfer Services

The PC6530 Terminal Emulator (PCT) and Outside View with Tandem Terminal

Emulator (TTE) programs also allow the transfer of files between operating systems and

workstations on a NetWare LAN. On the NonStop™ Himalaya S-series server, the

Information Xchange Facility (IXF) provides file-transfer support using Telserv and

NonStop™ IPX/SPX, as illustrated in Figure 2-6

. (Figure 2-4 on page 2-6 shows the

relationship of Telserv to the rest of the system.)

Remote Server Call (RSC) Services

The RSC interface allows clients to access NonStop™ Transaction Services/MP

(NonStop™ TS/MP) on a NonStop™ system. NonStop™ IPX/SPX allows clients on a

NetWare LAN to access transaction servers using RSC over NonStop™ IPX/SPX, as

shown in Figure 2-7.
