STOP Command
Backup State
displays the summary state of the backup IPXMGR process. Possible summary
states are:
Takeover Count
records the number of times a process has undergone an unplanned backup takeover
since the process was started.
Backup Abend Count
contains a count of backup-process abnormal terminations.
Considerations
•
STATUS is a nonsensitive command.
•
To use the STATUS command, the IPXPROTO process must be in a STARTED
summary state.
•
The object-name template (wildcard notation) is supported. (See Object-Name
Templates and Wildcards on page 3-6.)
•
The summary state of the object does not prevent the STATUS command from being
completed successfully, and STATUS does not alter the summary state of the
objects.
•
If the diagnostic state is NETWORK, MEMORY, or UNKNOWN, consult the EMS
log to see if an Object Unavailable event occurred. Such an event provides further
recovery information.
•
The SUBSYS object is always in the STARTED summary state.
STOP Command
The STOP command terminates the operation of the specified object after first executing
an internal orderly cleanup procedure. When the command is completed, the object is
left in the STOPPED summary state.
When you use the STOP command, the object must be in a STARTED summary state,
with no connections. If the object is in either the STOPPED summary state or in the
midst of an active connection, a warning message returns when you issue the STOP
command and the object remains in its current state. Once the object is STOPPED,
processing for that object cannot continue until it is STARTED again.
STARTED The SUBSYS backup process object is started.
STOPPED There is no SUBSYS backup process object.
STOPPING The SUBSYS backup process object is stopping.
