IPX Addresses
An IPX address uniquely identifies a node on an IPX internetwork. An IPX address is
12 bytes long and consists of the three fields shown in Figure 2-3.
The following describes the fields in an IPX address:
Destination Address IPX address of the destination node.
Source Address IPX address of the source node.
Data is the data.

Network identifies a network, typically a LAN, within an internetwork. The
network address of the NonStop system is obtained from a
NetWare file server when the NonStop IPX/SPX subsystem is
started.
Note. On a NetWare LAN, IPX network addresses are assigned only to NetWare file servers
and dedicated routers and bridges. The NonStop IPX/SPX subsystem uses the IPX NetWare
address of the first NetWare file server that replies to its broadcast for a network address.
