Installing NonStop Servlets for JavaServer Pages
(NSJSP)
Installing NonStop Servlets for JavaServer Pages
(NSJSP)
The procedure for installing NSJSP software depends on the distribution medium for the
product. Check the Readme.txt file if you have received the software on a CD. Check the
softdoc if you are installing the product from a tape. The following installation
instructions are correct as of the time this manual was published; however, the
Readme.txt file or softdoc supersedes the information here.
The T1222 Servlets 2.2 infrastructure (with the additional JSP support) is a completely
different implementation of the Servlets API from previous T0094 Servlet Server Class
for Java (SSC) infrastructure. As such, there may be some migration concerns for pre-
existing Servlet 2.0 applications that are to run under the new infrastructure.
Additionally, the T1222 NSJSP product will replace the older T0094 SSC product when
installation is performed. Please ensure any migration concerns are addressed before
installation of this product.
Perform the following pre-installation step:
1) The following software must be installed and configured before you install NSJSP:
•
The OSS environment on a NonStop
TM
system running NonStop operating system
version G06 or later
•
NonStop Server for Java (NSJ) 2.0 or later, as described in NonStop Server for Java
2.0 Programmer's Guide
•
iTP WebServer, V50 IPM ABG or later. Note that you will need to restart the iTP
WebServer after installing NSJSP.
Every time you install a new version of NonStop Server for Java, you must re-run the
NSJ "make" to ensure the NSJSP software is linked with the JVM. Refer to the NSJ 2.0
documentation for more information.
Perform the following installation-related steps:
1) Copy the product files to <$ISV>.ZOSSUTL (if you have a product CD, see the
README.TXT file for instructions specific to moving files from the product CD with
FTP).
2) On the Compaq NonStop system, logon as SUPER.SUPER, go to
<$ISV>.ZOSSUTL, and unpax the product file using the TACL macro COPYOSS:
TACL> LOGON SUPER.SUPER
TACL> VOLUME <$ISV>.ZOSSUTL
TACL> COPYOSS T1222PAX
COPYOSS delivers the contents of T1222PAX into the version specific OSS directory
located at:
/usr/tandem/webserver/servlet_ jsp/<version>
where <version> is the vproc of this release
