Notation Conventions
Hypertext Links
Blue underline is used to indicate a hypertext link within text. By clicking a passage of
text with a blue underline, you are taken to the location described. For example:

General Syntax Notation
The following list summarizes the notation conventions for syntax presentation in this
guide.
UPPERCASE LETTERS. Uppercase letters indicate keywords and reserved words; enter
these items exactly as shown. Items not enclosed in brackets are required. For example:
MAXATTACH
Note that commands documented in this guide may not follow this convention if they
must be used following a different convention such as mixed upper and lower case or all
lower case.
lowercase italic letters. Lowercase italic letters indicate variable items that you supply. Items
not enclosed in brackets are required. For example:
file-name
Monospace font. Monospace font letters indicate text in examples and syntax descriptions,
and to portions of that text that are included in descriptions relating to those examples
and syntax descriptions. For example:
file-name
where file-name indicates a file you are creating in the default directory.
