4-34
TIME Command
Activity in the file continues until all processes using the file have terminated. When
you enter this command, a STOP mark is added to the file’s entry in the configuration
file, ZSYSCFG. The STOP mark is persistent across processor reloads and system
loads.
Stopping the use of the only swap file for a processor inhibits process creation on that
processor. Any attempt to start a new process causes process creation errors, such as
PROCESS_CREATE_ error 55, “THE SPECIFIED SPACE GUARANTEE CANNOT
BE ALLOCATED.”
A file whose usage has stopped, or has a stop pending, can be reenabled using the
START command.
This command can be issued only by super-group users (255, n).
For more information, see the DELETE and START commands earlier in this section.
Example 4-20 shows the STOP command.
TIME Command
The TIME command displays the local time and date for a system. This example
shows output of this command.
NSK-TIME
LOGTIME : May 10, 2005 10:25:11 LCT
Note. If the target swap file is the only swap file open, NSKCOM responds with the error
“Cannot Stop a CPU’s last open swapfile!” and does not stop the file.
Example 4-20. Using the STOP Command to Stop Usage of a File
NSK-STOP SWAPFILE $SWAP.KERSWAP.CPU01A
File $SWAP.KERSWAP.CPU01A Stop Pending altered in ZSYSCFG
STOP is pending
NSK-
Note. The STATUS SWAPUSAGE command displays the system name and the current time.
The STATUS SWAPFILE and INFO commands display the system name and current time, by
default.
